HISTORY
Dumesny Racing, one of the largest sprintcar teams worldwide was founded by Australian Motorsport Hall of Famer and Speedway Hall of Famer, Max Dumesny. In 2016, Max Dumesny unveiled the four car Sprintcar team at Valvoline Raceway. Since the unveil the team has seen much success including two Valvoline Raceway Track Championships (USC NSW), a USC SA championship and the Ultimate Speedway Challenge across Valvoline Raceway, Toowoomba Speedway and Murray Bridge Speedway. The team currently consists of three cars, piloted by Max, Matt and Marcus Dumesny.
MAX DUMESNY
With a career that spans over almost fifty years, Max Dumesny has been a dominate name in Australian motorsport. Max began racing motocross as a teenager before stepping into his first car, a Formula 500 where he won multiple Australia titles. After a few years Max transitioned into sprintcars where he found great success which includes 7 World Series Sprintcar Championships, 3 Grand Annual Sprintcar Classics, 3 Australian Sprintcar Titles, 1 Australian NASCAR Title, 1 Australian Speedcar Grand Prix and 2 Australian Formula 500 Titles. Max was also inducted into the Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame and Australian Speedway Hall of Fame and a lifetime member of his home track Premier Speedway. MELINDA DUMESNY
Melinda’s childhood coincided with the popularity of minibikes. When other children were riding push bikes, she would be doubling her sister on a purple minibike in the paddock out the back. These skills would come in handy when, as a mother, Melinda would often take her boys for a ride to pacify one of her son when she was having difficulty settling them while Max was away racing. Melinda’s father was a prominent sprintcar driver and owner, Sid Moore, at one time racing a fleet of three cars. Growing up surrounded by sprintcars, it was almost a right of passage that as soon as she was old enough, Melinda would begin racing Sprintcars. Melinda made history in the early 1991 as she became the first female to qualify for an A Main at Knoxville Raceway. In 1989/1990, Melinda entered World Series Sprintcars however became ill a few races in, only to find out she was pregnant with Michaela. While juggling raising four children Melinda had the couple opportunities to jump back in the seat, including one time at the Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic when Max had broken his arm. Melinda qualified 11th and on the final night only missed the transfer spot by one position.
MITCHELL DUMESNY
Mitchell Dumesny, eldest son of Max and Melinda Dumesny followed his parents into the wild world of motorsport. Mitch began racing go-karts at age 11 with the support of Parramatta Kart Warehouse, while his dad was away racing. Having found success in the NSW Kart Club he stepped into a sprintcar in 2003. Known predominantly for his success at home track, Valvoline Raceway (Parramatta City Raceway), Mitchell steered the N77 to multiple feature wins. Mitchell won the 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 Parramatta Track Championships.
MICHAELA DUMESNY
Starting out with the real horse power, showing horses Michaela didn't step onto the motorsport scene until 2005 where she began racing Brian Linigen's Junior Sedan. In 2008, Michaela stepped into Wingless Sprints where she found most of her success scoring multiple podiums. In 2016, Michaela stepped into a sprintcar for the first time while she juggled duties as a Pit Reporter at Valvoline Raceway.
MATT DUMESNY
Within days of his birth Matt was on the road as the family travelled all over Australia following his father as he raced both Sprintcars and NASCARs. From a very early age Matt’s passion was for motocross. Matt enjoyed playing baseball and racing karts and riding motorbikes. Matt started racing go karts at the age of 7, winning the NSW State Title. In 2006, Matt scored victory in the Junior National Association of Speedway Racing (NASR) Australian Title, writing his name into the record book after passing the age of requirement by 24 hours. In 2009, Matt decided to trade in four wheels for two and began racing motocross, winning many A grade races. His achievements have been remarkable including representing Australia at the AMA Motocross Millville Nationals, USA in 2010 where he finished 2nd. In 2013, Matt decided to follow his dad's footsteps into Sprintcars, where he continues to race to this day. MARCUS DUMESNY
In 2007 Marcus began racing motorbikes and seen some success in the 65cc division winning the Oakdale motocross championship. Marcus moved to go-karts in 2012 and raced for three seasons. It was in go-karts that he saw his first snip of great success when he won the Australian Title in 2013. In 2015, he made the jump into sprintcars and received the Sprintcar Association of NSW Rookie of the Year award. In 2018, Marcus scored his first sprintcar win at Valvoline Raceway for the annual Valvoline Grand Prix on Boxing Day. Since scoring his first win, Marcus has won multiple features across New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. In 2020, Marcus won the Valvoline Raceway Track Championship (USC NSW), the USC SA and the Ultimate Speedway Challenge across USC NSW, SA and QLD with help of Darryl "Mouse" Green and the Rowett's. Marcus also finished 2nd at the 2020 Australian Sprintcar Title in Latrobe, Tasmania and won a preliminary night of the infamous Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic in front of his dad's home crowd. In 2021 Marcus set out to race sprintcars in the United States once again, not only did he speed quicktime against the outlaws but he won his first feature in the U.S. at Jacksonville Speedway, Illinois. In 2022, Marcus had his biggest career highlight yet, winning the Australian Sprintcar Title at Archerfield Speedway, which seen him join his father, Max in the history books for winning this prestigious event.
